Thomas Adès conducts the company premiere of his own opera, which has been widely acclaimed as a modern masterpiece since its 2004 premiere at London’s Royal Opera House, Convent Garden. “The Tempest is an extraordinary, exquisite composition,” says director Robert Lepage, who helms the production. “The opera captures the magic of Shakespeare’s last play. It is a box full of magic tricks, which makes it a gift for me and for the designers.”
