Returns and Cancellations
What is your return policy for web orders?
If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return your unused, unopened and undamaged merchandise within 30 days for a prompt refund to the original form of payment or an even exchange. Gift recipients are eligible for an exchange only. Unfortunately, we cannot offer free shipping or free returns on international orders.
Gift cards expire five years from the date of purchase. Gift cards are non-refundable and may not be exchanged for cash, applied against previous purchases, or to purchase additional gift cards. In the event an unexpired gift card is lost, stolen, or destroyed and the Met is presented with adequate proof of its original purchase, the Met will replace the card upon request with the balance remaining at the time proof of purchase is presented. All matters arising from the purchase, use or possession of a gift card shall be governed by New York law and any dispute in connection with such matters must be resolved exclusively in a state or federal court located only in the County of New York.
To return an item you have two options:
1) Call customer care at 212-501-3482 and they will issue you a return label by email or mail, please have your order number available. This may take up to 48 hours to send.
A charge of $7 will be incurred for use of the return label.
2) You can also use your own label for no additional fee and send your return to:

Please make sure you include a copy of your packing slip or include your order number for an expedient credit. We recommend you insure your package if you are not using our return label.
The Met Opera Shop reserves the right to deny refund if the merchandise does not meet return policy requirements.
Shipping and handling charges for returned merchandise are non-refundable unless we have made a shipping error.
Can I return an item to the Met Opera Shop at Lincoln Center?
Returns cannot be accepted in the store. If you purchased an item online, you must return it in the same packaging, using the return label provided.
Can I cancel an order?
If you wish to change or cancel your order, please contact our Customer Service department at 212.501.3482 and provide the order number found in your order confirmation email and we will be happy to assist you.
Please Note: Online orders can only be canceled within 30 minutes of placing the order.
The Met Opera Shop will refund the original form of payment only if it meets the guidelines of the return policy.
Your refund will be processed within approximately 14 days of receiving your merchandise. Your banking institution may require additional days to process and post this transaction to your account.
