The pianist sister duo, with a career spanning more than fifty years, had released their recording of Les Enfants Terribles in 2020 to great acclaim. Here, they present the remaining two works, Orphee and La Belle et la Bête, beside their previous recording of Les Enfants Terribles.
The works have been arranged for them by Glass` music director Michael Riesman. 3 LP set with 8-page booklet in lift-off lid box.
History
Music Notes
Most Western music is based on a system of notation that evolved around 1600 out of earlier practices. The starting point for any opera is the full score, which contains all individual voices and instruments arranged in a specific order on the page. The written music—representing the sounds a composer creates in his head—then comes to life performed by singers onstage and played by the orchestra.
