This 6-CD collection of 101 favorite tracks presents the very best of Luciano Pavarotti, one of the greatest tenors of all time, who with fellow tenors José Carreras and Plácido Domingo brought opera to a whole new audience with the Three Tenors phenomenon, and also collaborated with pop artists through his Pavarotti and Friends concerts.

The box set is themed, with the first three discs filled entirely with popular opera arias by Puccini, Verdi and Donizetti, among others, starting with the most famous of all arias, "Nessun dorma." The fourth disc is entirely devoted to sacred music, while the final two discs celebrate popular song, including the best-loved Neapolitan Songs that were such a feature of Pavarotti’s repertoire.

The collection includes a number of duets with the great sopranos of his generation, including Dame Joan Sutherland, Montserrat Caballé, and Mirella Freni, and he is supported throughout by some of the greatest ever conductors, including Herbert von Karajan and Sir Georg Solti, and for many of the popular songs by Henry Mancini.

With a running time of over 6 ½ hours of music, this box set provides great value for the Pavarotti enthusiast.
