As a young boy in Malta, Joseph Calleja saw Mario Lanza in the film The Great Caruso and was so captivated that he gave up his predilection for Metallica and Iron Maiden and followed his dream to become an opera singer. On Be My Love, he pays homage to Lanza, “a voice of ridiculous beauty – unique, instantly recognizable and so pure; a full-voiced operatic tenor with a beautiful, beautiful sound.”
