Wooden Caterpillar Xylophone With Wooden Mallets

This rainbow-colored xylophone with a smiling caterpillar face introduces children to basic concepts of music, such as octaves, intervals, and rhythms through creative play.

Made with a sturdy wooden base, it holds a full octave of 8 metal keys marked with corresponding notes designed to be played with easy-to-grip wooden mallets.

When stored in the xylophone, the mallets become the caterpillar’s antennas.

Included is a double-sided song card with color-coded and lettered notes on a musical staff to help kids learn to play Mary Had A Little Lamb and Row, Row, Row Your Boat.

Enhances motor development, as well as cognitive, social-emotional, language and sensory skills.

Music Notes

Most Western music is based on a system of notation that evolved around 1600 out of earlier practices. The starting point for any opera is the full score, which contains all individual voices and instruments arranged in a specific order on the page. The written music—representing the sounds a composer creates in his head—then comes to life performed by singers onstage and played by the orchestra.
