"Turandot" Carnelian & I-Ch`ing Coin Bi-Disc Necklace

Price: $55.00 Members: $49.50

Turandot Carnelian & I-Ch`ing Coin Bi-Disc Necklace

This stylish necklace is made of an authentic I-Ch`ing coin and carnelian disc separated by a gold-finished pewter disc. It is embellished with a carved light jade bead. The waxed black cord adjusts to 36” long. Fits over head.

A translucent form of chalcedony, carnelian is a semi-precious stone that has been used in jewelry for centuries.

Strung on a cord, I-Ch`ing coins were used by the Chinese to help make decisions based on the patterns of the toss as they related to the I Ch`ing, The Book of Change.

Reminiscent of the Met’s production of Giuseppe Puccini’s epic masterpiece, Turandot, set in Peking, China in legendary times.
