Description
Susan Graham “Merry Widow” Stole – Lavender (Met Opera Costume Exclusive)
Wrap yourself in opera history with this one-of-a-kind couture shoulder stole, cut from the Hanna Glawari character’s costume in the Met Opera production of Merry Widow. This unique shawl features layers of lavender fabric finished with a spectacular beaded fringe at each end. The shawl comes with a purple organza bag (also made from the costume) fastened with a beautiful and sparkling costume jewelry pin.
The Met’s signature handwritten name tag is sewn into the corner of the lining. Each and every costume used in Met Opera productions has a handwritten label sewn into the lining. The label indicates the year, the opera, and the performer who wore the costume.
This shawl was created from a stunning Merry Widow costume worn by mezzo-soprano Susan Graham when she performed the role in the 2003-2004 season.
The stole can be worn in multiple ways and comes in a purple organza bag created from the petticoat underneath the costume skirt.
