Laurel Burch “Mikayla” Multi & Red-Orange Raincape

This stylish reversible, rain cape features a vivid, oversized image adapted from, “Mikayla” a fanciful work created by 20st-century American artist, Laurel Birch. The other side is an intense, solid red-orange.

An excellent alternative to a heavy rain jacket, everyday windbreaker or a one-time-use poncho, this fashionable, lightweight cape is water repellant on both sides and has a hood to resist the elements.

Hidden double-sided magnets create “sleeves” for a strong hold. Fold-back cuffs adds flair. Roomy and breathable it is made of 100% polyester and has a silky-soft touch.

One size fits most. Folds into a matching travel pouch. Ideal for day trippers and world travelers.

Mikayla, the sea goddess is the quintessential diva or “divine one”. In the world of opera, however, “diva” takes on a more specific meaning, referring to the highly exalted star, like those heard at the Met, but you don’t have to be an opera singer to hold the title.

History

Diva

Diva is an Italian word derived from the Latin divus, which literally translates as “the divine one” or “goddess.”

In the world of opera, however, diva takes on a more exalted meaning, referring to the principal female singer on stage and harking back to a time when opera singers were music’s biggest stars.
